While the Tanzanian government works on constructing a pipeline to connect the Ntorya Gas Field to the existing Madimba Gas Processing Facility, APT is preparing for production.
In the initial phases of production, the Ntorya-2 well will be connected to the pipeline through a mobile well test facility and be put into an extended well test for perhaps a period of a year. The gas produced during this period will be fed into the pipeline and transmitted to the Madimba Gas Plant.
The Chikumbi-1 well will be drilled in the coming year to appraise the southern end of the gas field. Multiple gas bearing horizons are targeted with this well with an objective to put the well into Extended Well Test through the same facility used for NT-2.
Following the drilling of the CH-1 well, the rig will move to the Ntorya-1 well to reinstall a new completion suitable for gas production. With this workover activity, NT-1 will be connected to the same facility and very rapidly, production will ramp up to 60 MMScf/d with three wells feeding into the pipeline.
APT is the operator of the Ntorya Gas Field, Tanzania’s largest onshore gas project. We are building infrastructure and expanding our operations so that we can start producing gas from Ntorya for the Tanzanian market soon.
