ARA Petroleum (ARA) was formed in 2014 and is part of the wider Zubair Corporation, one of the oldest and most respected business groups from Oman with broad interests across many sectors throughout the Middle East, Africa and beyond. ARA is a dynamic member of the Exploration & Production industry and has a strong track record throughout the E&P value chain as it explores, appraises, develops and produces oil & gas resources at home and internationally.

The company was created due to a need in Oman for a nimble and fast acting operator which could quickly develop marginal accumulations by applying progressive systems, processes and technologies that reduce the time and cost normally required for such production.

In this goal, ARA succeeded: since 2014, ARA has drilled over 90 wells, made several material or significant discoveries and boosted production from just 700 barrels of oil equivalent a day to nearly 20,000 barrels a day with a target of doubling that in the coming years.
